Does anyone use an electric fireplace? If so, is your electric bill huge? Does it warm a room? How often do you use it? We’d like to eventually have a gas one put in, but we’re thinking about an electric one for the time being….?

The electric ones are OK. The bill? Well it depends on how much you use it. I found it doesn’t warm a room as well as you’d like.
Hi,
Yes I have an electric fire place, including a fan and orange lights wafting aroung behind the screen.
It’s a pretty looking one, we dont use much, it;s there for emergencies, but it does look the part,
I had one of these in an condo I lived in for several years. It was worthless as a source of heat so I never used it enough to notice any difference in the electric bill. I’d say it would heat an area about 10 feet in radius from it (half a room). It’s purpose was spending an evening on the couch with your chippee, in front the fireplace. Flipping a switch is a hell of alot more convenient than stacking wood and lighting a fire (not to mention cleaning a real fireplace).
I used to have a real fireplace in a different place I lived. I’d estimate the heat output of an electric is about half that of a real one. Neither were particularly good at heating a room.
If you want to heat a room, I’d suggest a wood burning stove or a pellet burner instead.
no not really just watch out of what kind u buy
