Hi, for Christmas I got an electric fireplace and was wondering if there anything I can put on top of the fireplace that would resist the heat? I have a cat and I think she might want to jump on top of it when it’s running. I’m a bit worried that she might burn herself. The user guide said that the sides and front (duh since that’s where the vent is) get hot. Any suggestions?

Pottery or plaster — bowls, decorative empty vases, statues, etc. Or natural-stone objects. Glass objects would work, too, but they’re more dangerous if they fall off and shatter.
the cat will only jump up there once and she’ll not stay long if it’s on….
use metal things so you don’t have to worry about it at all….
