When we purchased our home 2 years ago it came with a woodburning stove. The thing has probably been here since the house was built…or a few years later …in 1976. I have two children, 4 and 2 months and am concerned on potential negative effects on their health. We used it last year, and I felt awfully congested fairly frequently. My husband is adamant on using it, and my father in law has been chopping wood to store for the winter every chance he gets. What do you think? Use it or not? How about newer ones…to possibly replace it? Any answers are very appreciated.

in VERY well condition.
Renovated COMPLETELY.
Year built is in 1978.

Hi everyone Okay, need some honest advice and opinions here!!
My fiance and I are planning on buying a home in the new year. I have had my eye on a cute little victorian house/cottage(it’s small) for over a year. It’s been for sale for 4 years! (I know, bad sign)
Anyway, I booked an appointment to see it with my Mom since I wanted her honest opinion. We went to see it and it’s cuter than I thought. I loved it! My Mom liked it, but thought it was too small. It has a kitchen, living room, 1 bathroom and 2 bedrooms. It is oil heated but has a gas fireplace in the living room (which the current owner uses as his main heat source) but I was told it would be easy to convert the entire system to gas since the gas line is already running through the house. It is over 80 years old which gives it a lot of character and for such an old home it is in pretty good condition (though I would never buy without getting it inspected) It has a new electrical system too. Okay, it has NO BASEMENT…the foundation is basically a concrete slab which is normal for most of the homes on that street. It’s in a small country town (perfect location where I want to live!) but my Mom thinks no basement is a bad idea..she thinks the re-sale will be very bad. I understand her feelings completely. The thing is, this home is very well priced, very affordable and because of the area, taxes are CHEAP and water is less than we thought it would be too. I mean, it needs fixing up like, new paint, carpet and floors. I don’t like the kitchen and would like to spend ,000 to replace it with a new one (cupboards, floors…)
The size is small but it’s just my fiance and I and we are only 21 and 23 so kids are not in the near future, lol. We want to live there for years and fix it up…maybe one day build onto it since the property line extends to the neighbours driveway so we could easily build onto the living room. The backyard is very private and a good size.
I don’t know what to do. It is very small but I feel that re-sale wise, it would appeal to a retired couple or a family for use as a cottage (since it’s in a cottage area) so I do think there would be a market for it eventually.
My plan is to get a whole new kitchen, keep the natural hardwood floors throughout, get new carpet all upstairs, new paint and add details like stonework behind the fireplace and one day down the road, veneer stone siding on the outside of the house.
Do you think such a small home (if I fix it up the way I plan to) would appeal to anyone?

Do you think for a young couple this property is a good starter home?

I am responsible for the food for one night. I have to feed 7 adults and 8 children. Facility wise I’ll have two gas burners and a fire pit with a grate over it. I also have electricity and can use a crock pot or other electrical device. I want something simple so that I can participate in activities during the day. I am comfortable cooking outdoors so I am open to all ideas as long as they’re delicious, and adaptable for kids. Somebody else is making BBQ pork already so that is already taken!

People can live in a house or in a flat. I live in a block of flats together with my parents. Our flat is situated on the third floor and it has 5 rooms – bathroom, bedroom, livingroom, kitchen and playroom. Our bathroom is rather small. There is a laver, lavatory, bath and shower. There is also one big mirror and a washing machine. There are many creams, combs and brushes in front of the mirror.
My bedroom is rather big. You can find there 2 beds, one wooden warderobe and two bedside tables with a red lamp on each of them. There are 3 gorgeous horses pictures on the walls. We also have a lovely green rug in our bedroom.
There are two armchairs, one big red sofa and a modern fireplace in the livingroom. You can find there also one big wall unit and a TV set. The rug in the livingroom is brown with red triangles. We have a lovely glassy lustre in our livingroom which all my friends admire.
The kitchen is small but very modern. There are 4 chairs, one wooden table, one old cooker, one microwave owen and a red cupboard.
My playroom is my favourite place in the flat. I share it with my older sister. When I am tired or have a hard day at schol, it´s is the best place to rest up. When you go into my playroom, you will see a table and a computer with a printer on it. I often play pc games or surf internet there. There are also two beds in the corner of the room.
My sister and me often help my mum to tidy up all the rooms in the flat. We vacuum clean and dust a place. If necessary, I also cook lunch and wash up dishes after the dinner.

I live in the mountains of Northern Utah and I would like to be able to heat my house (around 1600 sq feet with cathedral ceilings) with a wood burning or pellet burning stove when the electricity goes out.
I also would love to have an oven along with the stove, but I will settle for a cook-top surface. I need suggestions about brands, ease of use and cooking models. Any pointers would be really helpful! Thanks!

I’ve asked this question once before, but I would like to ask it one more time for some more replies so I can get a better picture of opinions. Thanks in advance.

So, I’ve always been commented for the way I dress, my personality, intelligence, and so on but I’ve never committed myself to a real relationship with anyone in particular and so I’ve always been curious as to how a woman really feels about someone like me and if it is appealing or am I just best friend material.

If I had to classify myself I would say that I was somewhat "metrosexual", a bit of a nerd, ambitious, humorous but not a class clown, conservative morals.

"Metrosexual" – So yes, I do care how my appearance and my hygiene quite a bit. I was raised in a traditional family so my dressing style has always been preppy, some would say classy, others would say on the verge of homosexual. By metrosexual I mean I do care about how I dress, how my hair looks, I use hair products, facial cleansers, cologne. I try my best to keep clean—I am slightly a neat freak—and stay fresh, I follow a nutrition plan and work out at the gym. But I am not extreme, I do not get manicures and pedicures.

For reference purposes, I usually dress along the lines of the items on this website, minus the blazars and jackets which would be for particular occasions:

but I do also dress casually in, say, a polo and jeans and sneakers.

Nerd & Ambitious – One of the most important goals of mine is to get into Harvard Medical School and become a plastic surgeon, followed by getting an MBA from Harvard Business School. I envision a life helping others and hopefully having time to spend some summers in 3rd world countries to donate money and participate in humanitarian aid groups. I am not ashamed of spending hours studying, volunteering, interning, but I know how to have fun, although I would prefer playing sports to binge drinking and random sex (although I’ve had my fair share of drinking games).

Humorous – I would say I am a light hearted humorous person but I am not the class clown and I can be serious but funny depending on the situation.

Conservative morals – I’m not the type of person who will get shitfaced the night before class nor am I into random hook ups. I am not attracted to "hot" girls but would rather use beautiful, pretty, or gorgeous, I don’t know if this makes sense. My sense of fun is probably different from a lot of college students, I would rather go sailing, sitting by the fireplace, sitting on a train going through the fields of tuscany, visiting the luvre, or sitting down by the sand watching the sunset than to go to a party.

I appreciate nature, luxury cars, art, architecture, furniture (particularly victorian and french). I enjoy cooking, a typical activity associated with women. I occupy a lot of my time playing sports and working out. I do enjoy simple things such as movies, hanging out here and there, going to the pool, whatever, but I prefer doing big exciting or adventurous activities.

So, I know I wrote a lot, but what would a woman feel about someone like me? In addition, what would a college woman feel about a person like me?

For those who have wise comments such as suggesting that I am too much of a pansy to find a woman: I’ve never been in a committed relationship because I’ve never met someone that had the same criteria or someone I felt really matched. It’s not like I have never had the chance to get into a relationship if I had the desire to do so.

Where to begin…okay–I have ten chapters in my Fantasy/Fiction book, and I am working on finishing the longest chapters, 11 & 12. Anyway, there are two fatherly/motherly characters that look after the four children (main characters). One, a Goldheart (Noumenon Changer/Demigod), is named Mr. Wolff. He is 69 years old, though he looks younger for reasons you wouldn’t understand unless you read the book. He owns Wolff Manor, is very rich, is a anthropologist, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then, there is Ms. Marian Hallman, his assistant, who is 59 years old. There’s a very complicated and tearjerking story behind their relationship when they were in their twenties and thirties having to do with the enemy, a werewolf bite, over-drinking, and a son. Anyway, they had to give up their son, they had a fight, he was drunk–and she left. He had already deserted the second Guild war, and after she left he continued drinking and almost lost his house. Then, when he was fifty-five, she came back and he agreed to employ her as his assistant. So, in the 11th and 12th chapters, everybody’s been trekking through the desert, they’ve fought two Darks (They enemy, Galvin and Lily) and a few Hellhounds, then they blow up the dwarf compound that has the fuel so the Darks can bore down into Atlantis–and Mr. Wolff teleports them back to London once they’ve done this, and after talking, everybody goes to their rooms. I wanted a sentimental (not erotic) scene between the two, in which Marian tends to his wounds, shaves him, etc. I don’t know where, but I read that grooming shows love in a way. Bear with me:

Although dirt and sweat clung to his face, Benjamin collapsed onto the armchair as soon as he entered the room, disregarding his mud-caked shoes by the contemporary fireplace and happy to be in his home country. He rubbed his wounded shoulder, blood soaking through his shirt, creasing his eyebrows in pain.
“Let me see,” whispered a voice. Soft, small hands pried his giant, beaten hands away from his wound and pulled aside his shirt, unbuttoning it. He lathered his rough chin and hairy cheeks, bringing the razor to the edge of his sideburn. His hand shook from the pain in his arm, the handle dropping to the floor. As he bent down to reach for it, he found that Marian had already picked it up. “Let me help you.” she said quietly, stepping up to him.
After stroking over his hairy face and carefully shaving his upper lip, she ran a comb through his wet hair until it was dry. White hairs were mixed with grays, browns, and reds, all soft to the touch. She laid her chin upon his head, resting momentarily and sighing.
That’s all I’ve got, but I’ve been weeping over the keyboard at the thought of this. You would be as well if you had read the whole story up to this point. I’m so attatched to these characters and their story, I cry every time I right an exchange between them. :”(

Living Room & Dining Room – Knotty Pine?

My living room is about 22 x 16 and 3 of the 4 walls have knotty pine. Long wall with front door and large picture window and two small walls. One wall also has brick fireplace (no mantel). The shelf at the fire place is stone or slate? It makes my living room so dark and old looking. I dont want to paint it but to remove all that will take a lot. The stain is rather dark and all walls wood is in good shape except the small wall has knicks in it from a rocker or something.

My one wall in the dining room also has this… None of it goes with what theme or style I would like to have… Dining room is currently baskets and americana colors. the only thing I can see that works with that is the lines in a basket. Living room, I like the Victorian look, antique, whites, washed colors.

What is the best way to brighten it up?

That’s "fir" not "fire". The only wood we could get this late in the season was fir, and so far getting the stuff to light has been impossible. Right now we’re using a grate to put the wood on (that may be the problem, not sure), putting kindling and newspaper under the fir pieces, and lighting the newspaper to get it started. Problem is, the logs just won’t CATCH. The newspaper burns up, and POOF; no more fire. We’ve already bought a bunch of wood, and we can’t return it, so we’ve GOT to burn it…..but we’ve gotta be doing something wrong, right? People light fires with fir all the time, so what’s the problem? And please, honest, educated tips on burning this type of wood would be appreciated, rather than a sarcastic "throw some kerosene on it". Joking about honest questions on a site like this isn’t funny, it’s RUDE……sorry, just had to get that out there. ^^;

My Auntie moved into a new house about a year ago, and everything was going okay until about 2 weeks after she and her husband and their 4 kids moved in. We were decorating the whole house and moving things about like furniture and putting up wallpaper. It was going really well and I LOVED the house that I’m sitting in now.

It’s an old Victorian Manor with huge bay windows and an elegant spiralling staircase that leads up through the whole house. It has huge fireplaces in all the bedrooms and the downstairs rooms and it is very beautiful. It is very old, and has about 6 bedrooms and various other rooms like a lounge, a library, a posh dining room and an old fashioned kitchen. It really is an amazing house!

Anyway, we were decorating and then we decided to go out for lunch. I decided not to and stayed behind to continue painting. Everyone was gone and the huge house was so quiet. I didn’t think it was haunted at all, but it is old and my Uncle joked about it being haunted. Apparently the person selling the house told my Auntie and Uncle that the reason he was moving was because it was too big and also for "other" reasons that he didn’t explain fully.

I was opening another tin of paint when all of a sudden I heard footsteps walking around in the hall. I thought that someone had come back for something so I went out to see who it was, but no one was there and I could still hear the footsteps as if they were walking past me and towards the stairs and when I shouted hello they stopped for a second and then I heard them head up the stairs and fade away to the top of the house.

It sounded as if someone invisible was walking around the house and then got a fright when I shouted and ran away upstairs. For some reason I wasn’t scared. I almost felt bad for scaring them. And I have had many experiences with the paranormal before so I was kinda used to it.

Anyway, that was the first thing that happened. The second thing was when my Auntie and Uncle first slept in their new bedroom after it was all finished. The kids were away and they were feeling happy and after a bit of wine they were slightly tipsy, and they started having sex, and in the middle of it, my Auntie saw a tall dark shadow hovering a few feet of the ground at the foot of the bed, and it raised both of it’s arms out by its side and when my Auntie screamed it vanished.

Then, when we were all invited to have dinner at the house we were all sitting around the table and there is a big chandelier over the table and as we were eating the chandelier started to shake. We all sat quiet and I turned off the music player and as we sat in silence we could hear what sounded like the king size beds or the grand piano in the upstairs parlour room being picked up and dropped from 5 feet in the air. You could hear huge BANGS and THUDS one after the other and that went on for about 1 minute, and at one point my uncle was about to go up and see what it was but we all stopped him and after it stopped we listened to see if it was all over and then my brother and my father and my grandfather went up to see what it was and when they went up we sat and listened to see if we could hear them and we heard them arguing and we though to ourselves "Oh god, what now!" and a few seconds later they walked in the door and we could still hear the arguing as if it was just in the above level.

We always hear walking and see things at the corner of our eye, and my Gran and Grandfather were sitting in the parlour room one time and they watched a wine bottle hover a few inches above the table and go off the edge of the table and few feet and then drop to the floor. My little cousins are always playing with people who aren’t thier and through a ball into the hallway and we all watch it sit still in the other room and then rise up and bounce back.

The house is very haunted, but there are bad spirits too that like to bite people because people have stayed over and woke up with bite marks that they never felt as they slept and my friend stayed expecting nothing to happen and when he woke up the next morning the bed he was sleeping in was at the other side of the room blocking the door and he had 3 big slashes on his back.

He hasn’t been back since…

My Aunite and Uncle like the kind ghosts that play with the kids and open cupboards with what my Auntie is looking for, but the ones that hurt people and smash things need to go!

Is it possible to get rid of the ghosts that you don’t want and if so how?

The couch is very light tan. End tables and coffee table are espresso. The walls are painted a water chestnut color which is very similar to a very light beige. Fireplace painted white as are all of the built in bookshelves. Off white curtains. Lamps and hardware nickel. Modern style living room. I want a good color to make up for all the whites/tans/browns/light beige.

How to remove fire bricks in log stove?

Hi there, I’ve got an old Yeoman County stove that the last people in the house put fire bricks into in order to reduce the size of the grate (and use less fuel, I assume). I’ve just bought a new replacement grate from the manufacturers but it’s the original size.

I’ve no idea what’s holding the three bricks in each side but they seem like they’re welded in place! Anyone got any handy hints or tips to get them out? I’ve been trying a hammer and chisel but I’m worried I could crack the cast iron as well.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I say there are 2 dreams homes, one you know you’ll never have and the other you’ll have to work hard for and be patient to eventually have it.

My dream home I know I’ll never have is 5 bedroom historic (colonial or victorian home) and is 2 stories with the last bedroom way at the tip of the house in it’s own little space. There would be 2 stairways leading upstairs, meaning a space in between. The top of the stairway will have rails, of course, and will be very spacious to put 2 chairs with a table, lamp and a mirror. The master suite would have a garden bathtub and a shower, his and hers sink and a walk in closet, one side for me and the other for my husband. Maybe our room would have a fireplace and the dining room would be huge to fit a dinette of 8 people. I built a tube grate for my fireplace with 6 – 2" tubes and a 250 CFM blower and when I build up a roering fire you can’t hold the back of your hand in front of one of the tubes long enough to say one thousand one before jerking it back. It is heating a 1200 Sq. Ft. house in 15 degree weather as long as I keep the fire going and I can get it hot enough in here to make us open the doors sometimes, but I was wondering how many BTU’s it is putting out?

I was early, as usual. Mom was tearing up in the front seat and Dad had his hands gripped hard on the steering wheel, I didn’t look at either of them, just stared into my lap at the little blue purse and toyed with the diamond clasp.
“Or Shanelle, were going to miss you so much!” Mom said, choking out words, her tears breaking words apart.
“I know Mom and I-.”
“It’s just going to be crazy without you!” Mom said, interrupting me. I breathed in and out and glanced at the clock, 4:45. We weren’t supposed to check in until 5:00. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
“Mom it’s only three months, not forever!” I said, wanting to get out of the car that I was now becoming claustrophobic
“I know Shay, I know.” She said, wiping her eyes, her mascara smearing. I watched as a maid bus pulled up and three maids got out, and brought supplies into the house. Mom smiled, knowing it wasn’t a total dump. We had already been here, Mom and Dad had surveyed the house, checked for alcohol, made sure I would be rooming with either a girl or by myself. I got a room with another girl, I forgot her name though.
The maids finished up and drove away and the clock read 5:01. I got out and Dad helped me with my bags. He awkwardly hugged me and then Mom got out of the car and held me until 5:04. They drove off, I waved and then another car pulled up. A green Lexus. A pretty brunette with big sunglasses on got out and she stood up, she must have been six feet tall! She had tanned, muscular legs and arms. I gulped.
“Hi, I’m Shay.” I said, extending my hand, she regarded my hand and then pulled me in for a hug.
“I’m Riley.” She said, as she pulled back a black Cadillac pulled up and two guys got out of the car, one was a tall blonde Abercrombie model and the other was a kind of lanky, but tall brunette with long shaggy hair and big green eyes. As they got out a Honda pulled up and out got a pretty little blonde girl with her makeup overdone and her tan overdone. We all awkwardly stood there and were about to shake hands when to cars pulled up, one with blasting music and the other with a little pig tailed redhead girl. The guy got out, he was kind of chubby with a cute face and the girl looked shy. I counted in my head.
“I guess, this is us all.” I said, and introduced myself. “I’m Shay Miller.” I said, shaking hands with the guys and hugging the girls.
“I’m Riley Jameson, no relation to Jenna.” She said, and smiled a wide smile, she really had the perfect teeth and her brown hair was now pulled into a messy ponytail.
“I’m Bryce Cowler.” The shaggy haired guy said, waving and smiling, his cute dimples showing.
“I’m Kaelyn Rivertson, but I go by Kae.” The small blonde said, waving.
“I’m Krista Ellberston.” Said the shy redhead with pigtails.
“I’m Ayden Jones.” Said the Abercrombie model.
“And last but definitely not least, Hunter Dort.” The chubby guy said. We all hugged and walked into the house.

When you first walked in there was a living room and a kitchen to the right and then a dining room and a little fireplace, two computers back to back and two big chairs. From the hallway there was a fork in the road, if you went left there were two bedrooms, and if you went right, there were two bedrooms, one big bedroom and a small one. There was a bathroom near the front door and then a bathroom in each room.
I shared a bedroom with Riley the one on the left of the left hall, across from the room Kae and Krista were sharing. In the right hall, Bryce and Ayden shared the smaller room and Hunter got the biggest room, because he brought in most of the money. We all settled into our rooms.
“So, tell me about yourself.” Riley said, closing the door behind her. Each room was painted with a different theme, ours was the yellow beach room with two Queen Beds with orange and yellow bedspreads. Kae and Krista’s room was a Victorian room with one Queen and one twin, they were each four poster and most of the stuff in there was red and gold. Bryce and Ayden’s room was a cool mint blue and there bedspreads were green and red, they had two twins. Hunter’s room was boring beige with black and white King bed and black and white old photos.
Riley jumped on the Queen bed closer to the door and I put my four big suitcases next to the bed near the window. I pulled the biggest one on the bed and started unloading clothes, Riley followed my lead. “Well, what is there to say?” I asked, as I finished unpacking my clothes and got out the next bag, essentials. Hair spray, hair straightener, gels, stuff like that. I put it all in the left drawers in the bathroom. Riley did the same, but put her stuff in the right drawers.
“Well, ill start. I’m really sporty, I play just about every sport and am really competitive.” She said, “So what’s your thing?” She asked.
“I don’t really have a thing but I like to draw and paint and write poems, but I’m not a nerd.” I said, shaking my long dirty blonde hair. I was pre
pretty popular back in Sunny Springs, I had lots of friends, multiple boyfriends.
“Boyfriend?” Riley asked, shaking out her bun, brushing it and putting it into a ponytail, her hair was bouncy, and curly, I wish mine was, mine was just boring straight, nothing fun.
“Yeah, I had a few.” I said, pinning a loose strand of hair back.
“Few meaning…?” Riley asked, and turned around.
“Seven.” I said, blushing. Right as I was about to explain, a knock came on the door, Riley said come in and Bryce came in telling us that him and Hunter and Ayden were going to the beach to start a bonfire and we could come if we wanted.
“We’ll be right out.” I said, and threw off my shirt and grabbed my cutest bikini, a red and silver polka dot bikini and then slid a loose kami and some denim shorts over it.
Riley put on a cute one piece and a crew tee and cargo shorts even though she was skinny, she was manly skinny from playing sports, so she looked better in a one piece then she would in a two pie
We grabbed out sunglasses and headed out the door, passing Kae and Krista’s room. Krista was reading a book and Kae was teasing her hair wearing a slutty pink bikini top and a super short white skirt. We walked past the door and she yelled “HOLD UP!” We did, Riley and I smirked as we saw she had just painted another coat on her face.

“So then the cops came and we were like OH, Shit!” Hunter said, downing his third beer. Riley and I looked at each other and saw Bryce and Ayden were looking so not interested. I basically had everyone in our group’s personality knocked down. Krista was the nerd, I was the pretty nice one, Kae tried too hard to be preppy, Riley was sporty, Bryce was shy but cute, Ayden was also shy but popular, and Hunter was the pig.
“Hey, anyone want to come to shore?” I said, grabbing my lemonade and getting up, Bryce, Ayden and Riley got up too. Kae was staring at Hunter with googly eyes. “Nah guys, I’ll stay here and keep Hunter Company.” Kae said. Hunter smir
We all walked down to the beach and I turned around and saw Kae had moved closer to Hunter.
“Well I think Kae likes him.” Ayden said, stunning us all, his first words of the day. Riley lightly punched him on the arm.
“It speaks!” She said, I laughed. We found a nice spot on the beach that was in the cold sand where the tide touched our toes. We sat shoulder to shoulder, Ayden, Riley, Me and Bryce. The sun went down hours ago and only the moon was touching the horizon. I thought this was a perfect start to the summer.
Hangover
I tossed and turned in my sleep. Homesickness. Even though I was nineteen years old, it was my first time away from home. My guts clenched and I was a little sweaty. I reached under my bed for my journal and it wasn’t there! I freaked out and hit the lamp, turning it on. A moan came from next to me. I yelled and bit my lip. Riley yelled too. We both rubbed at our eyes and I blushed, I thought I was at home. “I’m so sorry!” I said, quickly turning off the light. Riley muttered a “it’s ok.” But then went back to sleep. I stumbled up in the dark, grabbed my journal, slipped out the door and into the dining room. I slid into the big leather chair, the fire crackling behind me and started writing, I hummed a little as I wrote.
“Couldn’t sleep either?” a voice said, I was about to scream but the scream bubbled up in my throat and a light from the living room by the coach flickered on. Bryce was sitting on the coach, curled up with his headphones and his pajamas. I nodded. I close
my journal and joined him on the couch. I pulled my legs underneath me and rested my head against the arm.
“I don’t know why, probably home sickness, I have never been away from home for more than two days.” I said, gulping, wondering what he thinks.
“Me either, I’m working and staying with my parents.” He said, smirking, we had all established we were nineteen except for Hunter who was twenty almost one and Kae who was eighteen.

A little bit about the place – it’s in a house that was built in 1906 and is a part of the Virginia Historical Society. There is a white, built-in craftsman-style china cabinet in the kitchen and an original dark wood fireplace in the bedroom. I tend to like more earthy colors but am open to anything.
I suppose my question is – what colors can I paint the walls to keep with the antiqueness of the place while remaining modern?
My landlord said that I am allowed to paint and color I’d like to and I understand that I must paint it back to the original color when I leave (he is supplying the paint).

A few years ago i was working a nuclear plant outage in Mississippi. I had planed on renting a house from the friend of a friend in Port Gibson with some other workers but the house had already been rented. She told me her brother who taught school in Vicksburg had a couple extra rooms and would be willing to let them out, so i gave him a call and i went over to check it out. It was one of the older Victorian homes in town.
We agreed on a price and after paying the first weeks rent my new landlord kinda grinned and said " You know i guess i should tell you, some people think this house is haunted. In fact my girl friend says, she saw a ghost, though I’ve never seen one myself. " We both had a good little laugh over that,,,
Inside the house was a breezeway, hallway, running the full length of the house. We shared the kitchen which had a door leading off the hallway with a bath at the end of the hall and my bedroom off to one side of the hall.
My bedroom was so cool with a fireplace and a huge mirror above it. A really nice four poster bed. Twelve foot ceilings and a full, floor to ceiling window with velvet draperies complete with tassels, and a hardwood floor with braded rugs.
Time rocked on for a couple weeks and still no ghost. There was a computer in the hallway with a Walt Disney Micky Mouse animated screen saver that ran all the time and acted as a pretty good night light.
One evening about two or three weeks into the outage i woke up on a Saturday night around 11:30 and had to go to the bathroom. I jumped out of bed and headed down the hall and just as i got even with the kitchen door it opened and my landlord stepped out into the hall with a wine glass in his hand and a shriek on his face. He jumped back with a yelp and i jumped back looking behind me dreading what kinda horrible apparition might be back there but to my relief there was nothing. You see after a few weeks in the nuke plant with no sun and my gray hair, wearing nothing but my white Fruit of the Looms, i was the Ghost! ~ : )

where to put lava rocks and smoker box inside a gasgrill??

I had never use a gasgrill before, i just bought a char-broil 4 burner, model :463268007 using natural gas hook up to the house. It seems like highest temp i can get is only 250 with all 4 burner set on high for 15 min. but it doesn’t seems to sear the steak within 1 min. i also notice it seems like the area toward the back is hotter while the area closer to the front near the lip is not so hot. I also would like to know what is the right temp to sear the steak and what’s the right temp to cook the steak after searing them. i also bought a smoker box and some hickory chip, and a bag of ceramic, but i am not very sure how to use these stuff, where to put them?is it below the burner or between the burner and grill grate? I ask the sales man from lowes and he doesn’t know how either.
there are 4 triangle metal plate under the grilling grate to prevent the grease dropping on the fire, is that means my model cannot use lava rock? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I’ve just bought one of those "modern" black glass wall mounted electric fires. It is a compromise with my husband and we thought if we went for this one, it would look very nice and as it sits on the wall it does away with the need for the whole fireplace surround/mantlepiece. You can run it just on the flame effect for as cheap as a lamp but I wondered if you had it on for heat too, would it be more expensive to run than a gas fire?

If I had to classify myself I would say that I was somewhat "metrosexual", a bit of a nerd, ambitious, humorous but not a class clown, conservative morals.

Humorous – I would say I am a light hearted humorous person but I am not the class clown and I can be serious but funny depending on the situation.

I love the beautiful things in life: nature, luxury cars, art, architecture, furniture (particularly victorian and french). I enjoy cooking, a typical activity associated with women. I occupy a lot of my time playing sports and working out so I don’t really spend that much time to say go to the movies.

So, I know I wrote a lot, but what would a woman feel about someone like me? In addition, what would a college woman feel about a person like me?

I’ve never been in a committed relationship because I’ve never met someone that had the same criteria or someone I felt really matched. It’s not like I have never had the chance to get into a relationship if I had the desire to do so.

like do they get old quicker and need more maintanance like after 10 years? are they under warranty? how long? tell me good things and bad about manufactured homes-I am talking about the modern ones with foundation and all modern stuff like tub and fireplace.
