I really would like to put the Fireplace to use seeing as though it’s never been used and its a brand new home! However since the TV is above the mantel I was afraid having a fire would be too dangerous to the TV??? Anyone done this before?

Move the TV if you want to have a fire. The TV contains dangerous chemicals (like mercury) and you don’t want to mix that with direct heat from the fireplace.
