Feature wallpaper and colors?

Re-decorating my living room; and I’m using the fireplace wall as a feature wall and I’m planning on using one of these two wallpapers, and i have no idea what color to paint the remaining 3 walls ?
HELP please&also include which one you prefer

I am renting a house and the inside is covered in wood paneling! Does anyone have any cheap & creative ideas on how I can still make my home look nice and modern, rather than old and dull? Color Schemes & decorating tips/websites. Just a little more about the home: A fireplace in the living room, beige carpeting, black coffee table & tv stand. Thanks for the help!!

What is the best way to hang a heavy picture on a wall?

The picture is actually a somewhat heavy mirror about 2 ft wide & 3 ft high. I don’t know how much the picture weighs. The wall is actually over a fireplace in a very modern home. I would guess that the wall is dry wall.

At first I suggested those picture-hanging kits consisting of a nail & a hook (maybe use 2 to accomodate the weight). My mother (it is her house) feels that "molly" bolts would be better. Molly bolts are these plactic gizmos that you hammer into a drilled hole and hold a screw which you hang the picture on.

Forgive me if my terminology is incorrect.

what colour electric fireplace should we buy?

We are building a new rec room in the basement. Wall colours are sisal brown and one wall is rust red. The fireplace would be along the rust wall. The trim & doors will be white.

The sofa is called marshmallow and the ottomon will be espresso.

Have I painted myself into a corner? What colour wood looks good on rust?

Where to place a cable box for a wall mounted Flat Panel tv?

I have just installed & mounted a new 42" flat panel tv above my fireplace. Since it is a High Definition tv my cable company requires me to use a cable box in order to receive the HD signal. However, now I can’t figure a good place to put the cable box. Where could I put the cable box without it looking out of place or awkward? I thought of putting the cable box in another location within the room but the only outlet for the cable wire is behind where the tv hangs now. (it s a brand new home and the cable was wired to this location specifically for a flat panel.) The fireplace does not have a mantle either.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Should you clean the grate on a charcoal grill with each bbq? Or just let the fire burn the stuff off?

My buddy says that it’s not really necessary to clean the grate with soap & water before each cookout because if you let it sit in the fire, the fire will burn off all the junk from the previous cookout. Is he right? I clean the grate with each new cookout.

I’m not sure if I should tear down the house and then sell the property. I have put money into the interior thinking I would stay. I bought new appliances (stove, dishwasher, washer & dryer), also a new furnace, hot water heater, light fixtures, new countertops in kitchen, bathroom vanity, air conditioner. Home has pella windows, 14 glass sliding doors, beamed ceiling, paneling, hardwood floors, 2 fireplaces, 3/4 brick exterior. Finished basement with bar. It’s only a 2 BR with 1 1/2 baths. It’s located in the Wood Dale area of Illinois near O’hare, on a dead end street, near expressways. Homes in the area are being torn down or added on to making much of the area larger newer homes. I have put up a For Sale sign just to get an idea of what people would pay. I need as much as I can get out of the property to live on. I need as much feed in as possible to do this. The house was built in 1954.

We are building a new home and our contractor uses Heat & Glow gas fireplaces. A local retailer tried to push the Mendota because they heat better. However, we are on a budget and the Heat & Glow is more affordable.
