The picture is actually a somewhat heavy mirror about 2 ft wide & 3 ft high. I don’t know how much the picture weighs. The wall is actually over a fireplace in a very modern home. I would guess that the wall is dry wall.

The house that we’re renovating is circa 1850’s. The marble fireplace surrounds a decorative metal forced hot air duct that is no longer connected. The downstairs has a carved oak wooden mantel with mirror.
