I say there are 2 dreams homes, one you know you’ll never have and the other you’ll have to work hard for and be patient to eventually have it.

My dream home I know I’ll never have is 5 bedroom historic (colonial or victorian home) and is 2 stories with the last bedroom way at the tip of the house in it’s own little space. There would be 2 stairways leading upstairs, meaning a space in between. The top of the stairway will have rails, of course, and will be very spacious to put 2 chairs with a table, lamp and a mirror. The master suite would have a garden bathtub and a shower, his and hers sink and a walk in closet, one side for me and the other for my husband. Maybe our room would have a fireplace and the dining room would be huge to fit a dinette of 8 people. I would still want a historic house that I’ll work to have one day when I’m over 30 years old but it would be 4 bedrooms and of course not as big and not a huge yard etc. It’ll cost much more less as well, thinking of getting a fixer upper and converting it to what I want. What is yours???

We just bought an old victorian home, and there is a fireplace in the master bedroom. the original hearth is still on it, and the tiles on the surround are a mauve color. i dont know what color to paint the walls!! i dont like tan or off white, and the walls are pink now and it looks gross. it cant be yellow because room accross the hall is yellow, and i dont want them both to be. gray is a possibility, but then what would i do for curtains and the bed spread?

help!! :)
the hallway is painted sage, so i dont want that on the bedroom wall i dont think

I have an old victorian home. The fireplace in the living room has been sealed up & I was wondering if there are any types of candel holders I can mount to the cement to make it look like there is a fire lit. Is there a web site anyone knows about? Thank you!

I have a very old victorian home that is on pillows, it was my grandmothers home it has a lot of sentimental value and I don’t want to lose it. It has 12 foot ceilings throughout, and large cathedral poles in the living room, and 3 fireplaces. It needs work but it has a lot of potential. I want to move this house 70 miles from where it is now, the place I want to bring it to is in the country and it is beautiful there, just as beautiful as this home. Can someone give me some advise on what I have to do to make this dream of mine come true. I really dont want to lose this house, but I have to move, and I cant afford to build.

I have a grand two story victorian home built around 1890. It has two wrap around porches two balconies and seven fireplaces. Oh and it has a grand foyer and staircase. Just to give you an idea of the task I am tackling. Oh and I live in the south so not alot of snow. Anyway I need some unique and inexpensive ideas on how to decorate it. It must be tasteful as I live in the historic districs. Thanks yall for any help.
