Check out Pacific Energy and Regency wood stoves. Both companies have very comprehensive web sites and they are both very good.
My great-grandma used to have a Ben Franklin stove. Cords of wood range from $50 on up, depending on what type of wood you get to burn. Most will heat up almost the whole house, depending on your square footage & where you put the stove.
Hardy wood furnace is very good, very expensive.
We had a Buck stove (fireplace insert) for years. We were very pleased with it. It had a tight seal and we had good control over the heat coming from the stove. Not sure if they still make Buck stoves, but at the time, everyone recommended them. After having one, I thought ours was better than other brands our neighbors had.
