The state has passed legislation that forbids wood burning stoves and furnaces to operate with no visable plume.
This is a far greater regulation that the State has for oil burning furnaces.

I guess they passed the legislation in order to protect the woods.
I myself like the smell of the wood burning, but I support all other alternative ways of heating that do not pollute the environment. This brings me to the oil question; I do not think that oil burns cleaner, but by burning oil, we protect the woodlands.
Oil burns cleaner and wood fills the air with crap that kills you.
Clean(ER) burning than wood, and it saves our beautiful forests.
